Are bees allowed?  Yes, in agriculture zoning districts. Read source text (http://www.sterlingcodifiers.com/codebook/index.php?book_id=803) or excerpt below:

5-21.2 Principal Permitted Uses

The following uses are permitted in the AG district:

Farming and agriculture, including the raising of field crops and livestock, horticulture forestry, animal husbandry, and similar farming activities

If a nuisance was called: This would be a zoning issue rather than a nuisance issue.

Additional notes: Hens of ducks and chickens are allowed in residential zones. Unsure if Mr. Hemenway is still on staff as email bounces.
